Heard back from several companies so far, will give it until Monday and then will attempt to schedule meetings. Found the NI Skills Barometer report from the Ulster University Economic Policy Centre, spent most of today reading it and making notes on areas to expand research.

Had a frustrating day trying to navigate the Microsoft Learn platform. The Learn platform has information which can be partitioned in several ways – by product, by role and by certification. You can then use the drop-down boxes to the left of the screen to further filter the results. My first issue came with not really understanding the levels for Microsoft versus the NQF levels I used previously, many of the exams and certifications call for experience with the topic in question, so they were unsuitable. For example, a keyword search on the term “endpoint” with the filter “beginner” returns the module Reduce potential attack areas with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint , which is part of the learning path Secure your organization with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint . This is relevant to my report, in that over half of the businesses expressed the need for better education on security, and most showed a strong preference for Windows and Microsoft’s suite of programs. A quick check of the other modules in that learning path confirm that it is relevant, so I take notes, for example, it is beginner level, it concerns Microsoft 365 and Security Engineer role. The module is also included in  path, so it could still be applicable as part of a follow on course, and is part of the preparation for the MS-...
